{"id":605,"date":"2025-08-14T16:45:05","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T16:45:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nca2dev.wpenginepowered.com\/?page_id=605"},"modified":"2025-08-26T15:03:24","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T15:03:24","slug":"sunset-review-2021","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/candles.org\/sunset-review-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunset Review 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-page\" data-elementor-id=\"605\" class=\"elementor elementor-605\" data-elementor-post-type=\"page\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6f0660a1 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"6f0660a1\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;background_background&quot;:&quot;classic&quot;}\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7164ae3d e-con-full e-flex elementor-invisible e-con e-child\" data-id=\"7164ae3d\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;animation&quot;:&quot;fadeInUp&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-32855da5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"32855da5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Antidumping Duty (\u201cAD\u201d) Order on Petroleum Wax Candles from China held its 5th Sunset Review this year, which determined whether the Order should continue in effect or be revoked (i.e., sunset).\u00a0 The entire U.S. industry benefits from the existing AD Order on Candles from China.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-16b090c4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"16b090c4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Our industry has invested a tremendous effort over the years to gain and maintain this AD Order which continues to contribute to the existence and health of our industry.<\/p><p>In early 2021, the National Candle Association (NCA) filed our entry of appearance for the 5th Sunset Review with both Commerce and the International Trade Commission\u00a0(ITC).\u00a0 NCA reported in late 2021 that both the Commerce Department and the International Trade Commission recommended an expedited review for the 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Sunset Review.\u00a0 An expedited review is extremely important\u00a0because it saved the NCA a lot of time and money defending the order.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eb63fe8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"eb63fe8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Commerce and ITC are required to conduct five year reviews of an antidumping duty order to determine if the order should be revoked.<\/li><li>Commerce is responsible for determining whether revocation of an order would likely lead to a continuation or recurrence of dumping.<\/li><li>ITC is responsible for determining if revocation of an order would likely result in material injury or threat of material injury to the domestic industry.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-59d7940 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"59d7940\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Once again, the NCA was victorious in defending the order! That is a big win for the candle industry.<\/p><p>Thank you to all NCA members that provided their data for submission.
